Workshops
at
Broadrake

Our occasional craft workshops here at Broadrake continue to prove very popular and we have an exciting programme lined up for 2018. The Blacksmithing and Willow Weaving courses which have been running for a few years now fill up quickly so book early.

We are delighted this year to be hosting a number of courses run by Stories in Stone, a local project with Heritage Lottery funding managed by the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust. These courses are subsidised and represent excellent value for money. There are a couple of scything days with Steve Tomlin, one of the country's foremost scything tutors, who has run several courses at Broadrake over the past few years. John Harrison taught a couple of line and wash workshops last year which were very well received and has a course coming up in May. James Innerdale, an experienced conservation architect, will be giving advice on "Living with your Old Building" in February and we are hoping to get Alison Armstrong back later in the year to run some workshops on vernacular architecture.

Dates confirmed so far are shown below. Watch out for one or two additions once details are arranged.

Of course you could also consider Broadrake as a venue for your own special interest group. The barn is available for residential or daytime use and can sleep up to 20 with excellent kitchen facilities for catering. The open plan upstairs space is suitable for meetings and activities such as knitting, painting, music etc. If you have any ideas you want to discuss or would like to visit to see if the barn is suitable please get in touch.
