Tutor Phil Bradley lives in NW Cumbria where he grows his own sustainable willow for basket-making, garden structures and also bird sculptures, all popular workshop topics. He has created some amazing structures and sculptures at RHS Harlow Carr and also takes commissions. www.philbradley.net
Phil's teaching style is relaxed and gentle, yet effective, so everyone achieves the necessary skills to complete the workshop task, be it a useful piece of willow weaving, basketry or merely decorative.
For 2018 Phil will be teaching Willow Curlews again, a course he introduced in 2016. It is planned for June when we hope our local curlews will still be around for us to hear their evocative call. There are also a coupleof 2 day basket making courses, one for willow frame baskets and the other English roundwork baskets. Then just in time for Christmas he will be teaching giant willow stars.
On his own plot Phil has enlisted the help of friendly hens that clean up the weeds from the willow beds.
